This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds and Open Awards). It contains an age-appropriate 135-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 38-page on shape and space – Outcomes 20 and 21.
Tasks and activities in both resources have been designed to help students achieve the following learning outcomes:
Describe the properties of common 2-D and 3-D shapes including numbers of
sides, corners, edges, faces, angles and base
Use appropriate positional vocabulary to describe position and direction
including between, inside, outside, middle, below, on top, forwards and
backwards
PowerPoint Lesson
The 135-slide PowerPoint lesson is editable. It provides many opportunities for the pupils to achieve the learning outcomes outlined above. The PowerPoint also contains hyperlinks to short videos on 2D and 3D shapes.
Workbook
The 38 page workbook includes 13 information/explanation sheets, 22 worksheets, two progress checks and a certificate of achievement.
