This resource has been designed for students working towards Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English certification. PowerPoint Lesson
The PowerPoint lesson explains why knowing alphabetical order is an important skill. It visually demonstrates how to place words in alphabetical order to the first and second letter. The PowerPoint provides many examples and opportunities for pupils to put items in alphabetical order. There are also tasks that involve pupils identifying where patients records can be found in a filing system and where CDs can be found in boxes.
The PowerPoint also contains a link to a short video explaining alphabetical order.
Workbook
This 25-page workbook contains three explanation pages, twenty worksheets (with answers) and a progress check, on using the first and second letters to sequence words in alphabetical order.
Tasks and activities include:
sequencing letters in alphabetical order
