English Functional Skills – Entry Level 2 – Writing Workbook

This resource has been designed for students working towards Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English certification. It contains an age-appropriate, 22-page workbook on the Entry Level 2 writing composition component – composing short, straightforward texts such as letters, e-mails and simple narratives.

The workbook contains 18 writing tasks and two progress checks.

Tasks include:

Using basic punctuation correctly (e.g. full stops, capital letters, question and
exclamation marks)
Using the first and second letters to sequence words in alphabetical order
Spelling correctly words designated for Entry Level 2
Communicating information using words and phrases appropriate to audience
and purpose
Completing a form asking for personal information (e.g. first name, surname,
address, postcode, age, date of birth)
Writing in compound sentences, using common conjunctions (e.g. or, and, but) to connect clauses
Using adjectives and simple linking words in the appropriate way
