This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2. It contains an age-appropriate, 35-page workbook on fractions – Outcome 10: Recognise simple fractions (halves, quarters and tenths) of whole numbers and shapes.
The 35-page workbook contains five information/explanation pages, twenty-two worksheets, two progress checks, a certificate of achievement and answers. Tasks and activities have been designed to help pupils to achieve the following outcomes:
to recognise 1/2 (half) of whole numbers and shapes
to recognise 1/4 (one quarter) of whole numbers and shapes
to recognise 1/10 (one tenth) of whole numbers and shapes
to apply knowledge of these fractions to solve real-life problems.
The resource is available in both a PDF and an editable version to enable teachers to personalise the resource if desired.
