This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2. It contains an age-appropriate, 80-slide PowerPoint lesson on subtraction (outcome 5 – subtract two-digit numbers).
The PowerPoint clearly explains how to subtract using column subtraction with and without regrouping. It provides may opportunities for pupils to practice this skill. There are also a number of one and two-step word problems involving subtraction.
The PowerPoint contains hyperlinks to two short videos (less than 2 minutes) on how to subtract using the column method.
This resource will help pupils to achieve the following outcomes:
Subtract two-digit numbers
Use subtraction to solve ‘real life’ word problems
