In the PowerPoint, Santa explains and visually demonstrates the rules for making plurals for:
regular nouns – adding ‘s’
nouns ending in ‘ch’ , ‘sh’, ‘x’, ‘ss’ and ‘s’
nouns ending in ‘f’ and ‘fe’
nouns ending in ‘y’ preceded by consonant
nouns ending in ‘o’ – preceded by consonant / vowel
Opportunities are provided within the PowerPoint for pupils to apply the rules. There are 16 accompanying worksheets containing tasks in which pupils make plurals of all the above forms (with answer key). There is also an information sheet on plurals.
