This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2. Tasks and activities have been designed to help pupils to achieve the following outcomes:

The PowerPoint clearly explains and demonstrates how to round numbers to the nearest 10. It also explains why we do this and gives many examples. Numerous opportunities are provided within the PowerPoint for pupils to practise rounding to the nearest 10 and applying this skill in checking calculations and making estimations in real-life contexts. The PowerPoint also contains a hyperlink to a video that explains how and why we need to know how to round to the nearest 10.
