This resource contains an editable, 45-slide PowerPoint presentation on the punctuation device – the ellipsis. It clearly explains what the ellipsis is, its functions in writing and how to use ellipses correctly in writing. Many examples are provided. Opportunities are also provided for pupils to explain why the ellipsis has been used. Students are also asked to shorten quotations and compose their own sentences containing ellipses about several striking images.
The PowerPoint also contains a link to a short video about the ellipsis.
